It's not over

Jeremiah 29:11 -- For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end

As the new year approaches, we find ourselves reflecting back over the past twelve months, and sometimes, previous years. It is the job of the deceiver to make us feel like failures or victims in our lives. As we take stock, we must realize that although we cannot change nor forget the past, we can, with God's help use them to live our lives in His will.

I realize I made things sound easy, but, my point is that with God, all things are possible. satan is seductive, and will any situation, conversation, or circumstance in our lives, to remove the focus away from the Lord, and put it square on ourselves. he then starts introducing memories from our pasts. Suddenly, we are reminiscing about the 'good ole days' with fondness and delight.

WE have not handed satan the keys to come in and redecorate our spiritual houses. When we take the marbles labeled with our cares, out of God's capable hands, we stand in agreement with satan for a better way. he takes us to a place of isolation and throws the blanket of depression over our heads; a state where we cannot hear or think clearly. He wants to muffle out the voice of the Lord, but cannot because He said that His sheep know H voice Make no mistake, this is not a game, satan plans to steal, kill and destroy our lives.

I Corinthians 15:34 tells us to awake to righteousness and sin not. Instead of speaking words of death and defeat, make declarations of faith such as, "I am more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ". Say it aloud, say it often, get it in your spirit, and begin to emerge from the entrapment and strongholds. It's never too late to return home! Repent, ask for forgiveness, and move forward in Christ. Today is the first day of the rest of your life, make the right choice today!

God bless,

Getting a handle on sin

For if you keep on following it (sin) you are lost and will perish, but if through the power of the Holy Spirit you crush it and it's evil deeds, you shall live -- Romans 8:13 TLB

Jesus, the one who knew no sin took our place on the cross so that we could have abundant life here and eternal life in heaven with the Father. We have all fallen short of the glory of God and sinned, yes, but we do not have to stay in it. satan loves nothing to find Christians he can deceive into falling.

If we can't forgive ourselves, how could our Heavenly Father ever forgive us -- this is the mind satan wants us to have. Do not attempt to reason with him you will lose every time. He is the master deceiver and wants us depressed, blind, confused, alone and in darkness. But, because of what Jesus did on the cross, we can pray in Jesus' name to our Heavenly Father for forgiveness and restoration.

It is important to be in a bible believing, bible teaching church that lifts up the name of Jesus. Also, ask someone who has a strong prayer life to pray with you. Jesus said that wherever two or more are gathered in His name, there He would be in the midst. A trustworthy accountability partner is a must-have in this walk of faith. You can fast together too. We all need someone with whom we can be honest and communicate openly.

If you keep on living you will be tempted, which in itself is no sin. The sin comes when we take on the temptation. Unsure? Ask yourself if the action glorifies the Lord or not. If you find yourself facing a situation, take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. You will see that the Lord has already provided a way out. If you are in fact trapped in sin, stop, ask forgiveness, receive it and move on in faith.

The deceiver entered the world to kill, steal and destroy. That includes all of our dreams, hopes, goals, family-- our very lives! Let's choke the snake of sin and live a victorious life in Christ today!

God bless,
Pamyla

The Word Illustrated #22--I John 1:6

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:--I John 1:6

The devil is always looking for a crack to get in and drive a wedge between us and God, he wants to destroy our testimonies by causing us to sin IE curse ourselves.

For instance, there may be someone at our job, in our church or in our neighborhood that we aren't friendly towards. They may not have said or done anything to us, we may have only heard others say unfavorable things about them.

If we are not careful, we will make assumptions, form opinions and end up with a heart of bitterness toward them. We can do all of this without ever speaking to them!

What is the harm? According to Hebrews 12:14-15, bitterness defiles us and will keep us from entering heaven! As Christians we are not to behave as the world does forming cliques, ignoring some, favoring others etc. This is not Christ-like behavior.

Jesus died on the cross so that we could ALL be free from the bondage of sin in ALL its forms! If we not being honest about who we are, we are not glorifying Jesus, we are glorifying satan.

Let's begin by examining our hearts, confessing our sins and asking forgiveness so that we will walk in the light of Christ. God is faithful and just to not only forgive our sins, but to remember them no more!

We need to go over to that brother or sister we've been avoiding, look them in the eye, smile and say hello.

God bless,
Pamyla
