TWI #80--Walk it out

Jesus saith unto him, Rise; take up thy bed, and walk – John 5:8

Heavenly father in the name of Jesus we seek you; our deliverer, our strength, our encourager. You are everything to us. We know that through your divine power, you have given us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of you who has called us to glory and virtue. We want to be healed in every area of our lives and made whole from this day forward. We thank you for doing it, this day AMEN.

I‘ve come to a conclusion, and in doing so, I had to make a decision. Totally persuaded by the word of God, I began to fully understand “Thy will be done”. The more I read the word, meditate on it, and delve deeper to study what is unfamiliar to me, the more my faith grows. At some point, I made a conscious decision as whether I would believe the word of God or not. It was the difference between life and death; standing in faith, or walking away. It is that serious for me, but it hasn’t always been so.

I received Christ in 1996, and one of the things that I needed to deal with right away¸ was the moodiness that ruled my life. It did not line up with the word of God, nor glorified Him in any way. But, because I was a babe in Christ and knew nothing about the power of God, I assumed that I had to live with it. I would go from one extreme to the other, driven of course, by events and voices from my past. I would be happy one minute, sad, angry or volatile the next. My emotional state dictated my days, made my nights long, and was destructive to all of my relationships.

People were never sure of how to approach me, because they didn’t know how I would react. I was often ‘the last one to find out’ things that should have been shared with me. But glory to God! He put a couple of faithful women who knew His word, and were committed to stand with me. It took consistent prayer and fasting, along with confessing the word of God over my life, which brought victory in defeating the thing designed to destroy me.

Luke 17:12-19, has the story about the ten lepers who cried out for Jesus to heal them. In verse 14 Jesus told them to go show themselves to the Priests. It further states “And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed”. One definition of cleanse is to free from defilement. Notice that the lepers didn’t just stand still, they had to do something. After they heard the word they had to move, activating their faith, which brought forth their deliverance and healing. I’m pretty sure they were that they were talking to each other about what Jesus said to them!

We too, after hearing the word, have to get moving by saying what God says, getting it in us and walking in faith. The Centurion told Jesus, “Lord just speak the word only”. We have the living word of God, in our hands. We can find scriptures (word) to stand on, concerning the things that plague us in our lives. We have to walk it out. That is how we will receive healing, deliverance, and breakthrough promises from God.

There is a commercial that states, “There’s an App for that!” Well, I’m here to tell you that, for everything you are facing or dealing with in your life, there’s a word for that! Jesus is the answer to all of our problems. According to the word, we have not because we ask not.

Learn to walk it out:

1—Acknowledge the Lord and seek His help--John 4:24 (He knows and He cares)

2—Find supporting scripture to stand on—Isaiah 40:8 (His word is alive)

3¬—Meditate on the word—Joshua 1:8 (Say the word out loud, think about it, and get it in you)

4¬—RELEASE YOUR FAITH—Mark 11:22-24 (It doesn’t matter what our circumstances say, say what God says)

He has spoken the word. Now it is up to us, either we will receive it; and have abundance of life, or we won’t.

Reference Scriptures:
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever—Psalms 23:6

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,-- Luke 4:18

God bless,

Pamyla

The Word Illustrated #73--Getting to breakthrough

Getting to breakthrough

We each need to get into a relationship with the Lord and walk closely with Him. Whether it is a word from the Lord, a specific promise, or living as He commanded, we need to know where our help comes from when trouble arises. We are to fight the good fight of faith. If we don’t, we will give up, cave in and quit; never learning to fully trust and stand on His word.

It’s worth it, to take time out to find supporting scriptures, to stand on. It’s worth it to take the time to study, read, and meditate on that word. It’s also worth it, to SAY out loud what God says. Why? Because, faith comes by hearing. Times become hard, situations get sticky, and there will be things that we do not want to deal with, but we can do all things through Christ which strengthen us.

The opposition we face shows up as accusation/ridicule, temptation, and loss. These are designed to crush us, but, we have to know who it is that makes us. Murmuring and complaining is not pleasing to God, these words are filled with doubt and unbelief. “This is too hard”, “I give up”, “I can’t handle it” go against His word. These statements SEEM to take the pressure off, but, they give satan the permission needed, to stand before the throne of God and accuse us day and night – Revelations 12:10

Jesus is our hope against hope, and because of what He did on the cross, we can take hold of and walk in every promise of God. We are told to work out our salvation, which is not going to be easy! Did you know that you are: joint heirs with Christ, the seed of Abraham, and that you have the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit and all of heaven on your side?

Whether the challenges are in our health, finances, relationships or other areas of our lives; we must stay in faith. We have to make sure that what goes in us; what we believe, and what we say, line up with what comes out of our mouths. Our faith is the only thing that moves God.

So what if your world is turned upside down – stand. So what if others laugh and walk away – stand. No matter who leaves, Jesus promised to ALWAYS be with us. Friends, satan comes to kill, steal, and destroy. he doesn’t fight fair and will pull out all the stops. There is no need to be surprised when divers temptations come; no matter what form they come in -- stand. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand -- Ephesians 6:13.

The loss of job, home, finances, family and friends can be devastating, but remember, it is our faith that pleases God and that in His timing, we will find ourselves whole in every area concerning us. Our reaction is the key that unlocks the door for things to move in His direction or another. What are you saying? Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest – Joshua 1:9

As our ears become tuned to His voice, the more we want to see His will, be made manifest in our lives. In the blink of an eye, He can change everything. It is His will for us to prosper, even as our soul prosper. You need to know that He is no respecter of persons. Your experiences and what you have learned will not only help you down the road, but they will also help someone else.

What seemed like an eternity in the desert, was only a pruning, meant to build and strengthen us. There were attitudes, behaviors, and habits that needed to be striped out. You are now walking under an open heaven, and doors that were not there before, suddenly appear; waiting for you to pass through them. When you know the truth, you are fee. The transition is so smooth, that you don’t remember moving from that place to this. How awesome is our God!

God bless,
Pamyla

The Word Illustrated #56--The Word Works!

The word works!

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves – James 1:22

Those who are of the household of faith should be wealthy in knowledge, health and wealth according to the word of God. Instead, poverty, sickness and ignorance plague the body of Christ. If we believed the word, we would have no problem doing what it says to do. But, when we walk in doubt and unbelief, we cannot fully experience the abundant life that Jesus talked about in John 10:10.

If we walk in disobedience, we are standing in agreement with satan for what he says about us. Someone may say “Well I don’t know how to ‘do’ the word of God”. I say, look at James 1:5, we are told that if ANY of us lacks wisdom, to come to God, who gives to ALL men liberally (generously) and upbraideth (discourages) not and it SHALL be given him. Pray and ask God in the name of Jesus to bring you into wisdom and understanding of His word.

From personal experience, I can tell you that the word works! I had to first learn to trust God though. It is a process, and it takes time, but it is so worth it. The more I trusted Him, the more I began to walk by faith. We are like an onion whose layers are being peeled away to reveal more of what’s inside. As we begin to exhibit humbleness of heart, and go the extra mile to please the Lord, we will become less attractive to those who are hearers only of the word. Do not fret, there are more who are with us, than those who are against us. Be of good courage and move forward in Christ. He promised to never leave nor forsake us, He always keeps His word.

We are admonished to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. It is a healthy reverence and respect for the Lord that Philippians 2:12 is speaking about. To live in carnality is to live a defeated life. No one wants to keep walking into walls, banging their heads, while expecting different results. We must put our faith into action in order to see positive fruit in our lives. It is what we believe in our hearts and what we say out of our mouths that come to pass. What are you speaking over your life? Change begins when we get into a Jesus believing, bible teaching church that walks by faith. In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us.

God bless,
Pamyla

Whats so good about Good Friday?

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said , it is finished and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost—John 19:3

What makes Good Friday so good? Jesus on this day not only gave His life for mine and yours, but he took on all of our sins, each and every one. The one who knew no sin became sin and acted as a conduit so that we could have a right relationship with God.

When He said "It is Finished" he was including, all of the shame, all of the hurt, and all of the pain that many of us have experienced and that some of us still live with. Because Jesus did what he did we don't have to live defeated lives as puppets on a string being pulled, prodded and poked by satan.

In Christ, we do not have to succomb to the activities of our pasts, nor live mediocre at best lives, where we are hoping and wishing for the best. The bible states that He who has begun a good work in us, will continue it until the day of Jesus Christ.

If we believe what God says then we can proclaim that We are The Healed, We are Overcomers and we are New Creatures in Christ! Once we receive Christ the old man is put away and we can walk in the newness of life. As we study the God's word, we begin to know Him, and the plan that He has for our lives.

He removed all of the doubt and unbelief. It doesn't matter what we have done, or where we came from. No we are no longer drug abusers, murderers, or thieves. We are overcomers, new creatures and victors!

It is finished!

Get into a bible teaching, Jesus believing church and learn more about the sinless lamb who not only changes lifes, but does remarkable transformations (miracles) through the word of God.

The Word Illustrated #36 -- Let Him lead you

Nothing but darkness!

The Word Illustrated #36

Let Him lead you

For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me -- Psalms 31:3

Vision log 03-16-2010. Imagine, you and a friend are on the phone. Knowing what eachother are going through, neither participate in Pity Parties. It is not an option to magnify the troubles of life and glorify the devil. Instead, you begin to lift up the name of Jesus and thank Him for being (Jehovah Jireh) your provider, your healer (Jehovah Rapha), and sing praises to His name because He is El Shaddai, the Almighty God.

As you continue, you are suddenly thrust into total and complete darkness. You cannot see anything on the right nor on the left. When you put your arms out in front of you, and wave your hands, nothing seems to be there. You cannot feel air flow between your fingers nor can you tell where you came. Fear does not overtake you because you are standing on the promise that the Lord will never leave nor forsake you.

Before you can form an opinion of what is going on around you, you hear a still small voice, calling your name. The Comforter tells you to slowly turn this way, now make a half turn that way, stand still, hold it, wait....turn your head in the direction of His voice....now hold your arms out to your sides, lift them up, raise them up higher to waist level, do not let them drop. Look not to the left nor to the right, keep your eyes open, and do not move in any way that I have not led you to.

You cannot allow your mind to wander, you are trusting Him to bring you through. Even in that dark place, there is no question that you are still protected. As the two of you continue on your journey there is no mention about where you are or why you are there, it doesn't matter. Patience is no longer an issue, you have submitted yourself to the Spirit of the Lord.

In the deep distance you see what appears to be a fuzzy, dim light the size of a pin head. As you continue, you notice that the light is coming closer, quickly. A thought comes to you to run into the light, into the arms of safety, but you know that you must walk the way you have been instrucuted. This is not something that you want to do over! Just as suddenly as you were thrust into darkness, you have now emerged into a glorious light. There are no shadows or any hint of darkness! The warmth bathes you with total and complete love that floods through you. You are overtaken and consumed by it. The Lord has brought you out into a wealthy place.

I see you there rejoicing, and dancing before the Lord, or was that you pouring out before Him in a tongue that sent a sweet scent in His nostrils? You know how you praise and thank Him. Me? I was worshipping Him in song with tears. In the natural I noticed that my heart was pounding with excitement. In this place time, neither time nor distance matter.

When we look back to where the Lord has led us from, we see a black hole, an death cave. Although we are now standing on solid ground, we notice that we have been walking on a right rope, while being led through darkness! As the light pierces through, we see on the left, the ways we used to handle things. On the right, we see how tempation had taken hold and caused us to fall. I saw arms that would have grabbed and pulled us down into destruction if we had not walked the way we were told to.

What a beautiful vision! Because of what Jesus did on the cross, we can live more abundant lives, right now. He said that He would send the Comforter to us and He has. This is what I saw and experienced. I wish that I were better able explain it to you. There are times when we are given the full plan, laid out in it's entirety. Will you do it then, or put it off? At other times, we are given a plan, but we won't know the next step until we complete the former one. Will you continue on, or get tired and give up? We have to take a stand and make the decision to trust God always, at all times, in everything. It's a process that we can go through knowing He is with us or one that we can keep avoiding because it's hard. I got tired of walking in circles year after year. Are you tired yet?

God bless,
Pamyla

The Word Illustrated #35 -- Do you see what I see?

The Word Illustrated #35

Do you see what I see?

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known -- I Corinthians 13:12

Usually it is an incident or person that causes us to look inwardly at who we really are. As the scripture says, when we look in the mirror, the only part we see clearly is what is reflected back to us. If we ask the Holy Spirit to help us, we will begin to see ourselves for who we really are, so that the real work can begin.

Are we holding grudges, which cause us to be cynical? Are we insecure, and talk too much? Are we ashamed of where we came from, and hide the real us to be accepted?

For every situation, circumstance or stage of our lives, there are scriptures which come alive, bringing new revelation and freedom. I specifically make mention of this because it doesn't matter how long we have been saved, "I know what the bible says", or "I've read the bible before" should never come out of our mouths. We must stop opening doors, and giving satan the keys to wreak havoc in our lives. The real prisons are the invisible bubbles many of us walk around in.

To keep our cars are running properly, we have them inspected. In order to get the freshest foods, we inspect them for spots and bruises. Are we taking the time to inspect our inner man to see if it reflects who God says we are? He says that by Jesus' stripes we are healed, that we are part of the inheritance, that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and that we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ.

The influences of televison, magazines, and others are all around us bombarding and speaking to our inner man day after day. Who are we going to believe? WE all want to hear "Well done, thy good and faithful servant", so let's resolve to trust Jesus, to make us whole from the inside out. When we look in the mirror, we should see a person whose life is lining up with the word of God, not one who is trying to sure that their mask is on straight.

Are there poor among you?

He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done--Proverbs 19:17
NIV

The world knows that last month Haiti was devastated by a horrific earthquake. It affected about three million people. The city of Atlanta has a population of about four million people. In fact, a few years ago we felt a tremor or two.

I can hear someone say, "But I only have a couple of dollars and I need it". Jesus said that the least you do to one of these, (those in need) you have done also to him.

Please know that when we give out of our own need, God ALWAYS honors it. It does not matter what the amount is. Man looks on the outward apperance, but God looks on the heart.

We have been seeing all manner of natural disasters, and destructive forces, that have mangled lands all over the world. We have heard of tsunamis, fires, flooding and everything in between. If nothing else, we can always pray for others.

We can also do the same for those near us. Let's pray about being led to help a family for a few months. We can help in many ways if we are open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. There may even be someone in your neighborhood or church.

Let's walk in faith and be doers of the word as Jesus commanded. After all, wouldn't we want someone to do the same for us?

God bless,
Pamyla

Love is not blind

Now the end of the commandment is charity (love) out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
I Timothy 1:5

Webster's Dictionary describes unfeigned as not pretended; sincerely felt or expressed.

To too many of us, a homeless person on the street is nothing more than a faceless nuisance.

If we are walking in faith, the love we have in our hearts will come through in our actions.

In faith, allow God to use you, to bless someone else. If you walk in love with a pure heart and unfeigned faith; blessings and miracles will surely overtake you.

"Who Moves You?"

For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect -- Mark 13:22

We have to know God and His word for ourselves, we cannot get into heaven on mama's coat tail. Each of us has to confess that Jesus is Lord and receive salvation.

"I have read the bible before" or "I know what the bible says" is what the enemy loves to hear, because you are in no way a threat to the kingdom of darkness. Your being a Christian does not bother him, it is the kind of Christian you are that matters.

If we are carnal or remain as babes who cannot chew meat, he has been given the green light to wreak havoc in our lives, causing us to point the finger of blame at God, for unanswered prayers and a mediocre life at best.

Let's commit in this new year to put God first and to be hearers and doers of His word.

"Don't Look Back"

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God -- Luke 9:62

The past is the past and we all have one. The things we have experienced and gone through are things that God can and will turn around and use for good. From your life experiences, you can help others.

Walking forward and moving on can seem impossible, but with God, all things are possible. His word is full of promises for those who trust and believe in Him.

The devil doesn't care that you are a Christian, he only cares that he keeps you a powerless -- living in lack, poverty, fear, unforgiveness and pain.

Either you believe the word of God or you don't. The decision is yours! If you want to stop walking in circles year after year, then yoke up with Jesus. He won't let you down.

God bless,

Pamyla

Proverbs 17:22--A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones

What does our countenance say about us. Believe it or not, what we meditate on (think about) are the things that show up on our faces.

Are we walking in faith or fear? let's say that Donna was obedient in paying her tithes, and is worried about her car note which is due in 2 weeks. Since she talks faith, but walks in fear, her countenance is reflecting what is really going on inside of her. She does not trust God and His word as she leads others to think.

On the other hand, if Donna were talking faith and walking in it, she does what is asked without doubt or fear. She knows that although the money may not be in her bank account today, God is faithful and will bless her more abundantly because of her faithfulness.

How does she know this, because she reads His word. In Malachi 3:10 the Lord says to PROVE him. Be obedient, be cheerful in the giving of your tithes and offerings and KNOW that God will do what he says he will do. You will be amazed at the favor he gives you, and at how He positions people who want to bless you.

WE have be stand sure footed, unwavering and immovable while standing on the word of God inspite of what we hear, see or feel. His word can change our lives.

Whatever area you face challenges or struggle in, find scriptures that deal with that subject and meditate (recite) them aloud until they become a part of you. When the enemy begins to torment you about that thing, you give him back the word of God. This is standing!

As we get more of God's word in us, our countenance begins to change. Soon we will hear others comment and ask if we have lost weight, been on vacation or exclaim how much younger we are looking!

In John 10:10b Jesus said that he came to give life and to give it more abundantly. God's word is full of life and able to deliver us from anything that comes our way.

for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart—I Samuel 16:7b

God loves each of us we were all created in His image. If we were to walk past a field of yellow flowers notice one that was much taller, and of differing colors, would we not still see it as being beautiful? The fact that it stands out in the crowd alone makes us take notice.

If we continue to look at the differences in each other as being strange or unacceptable, we will soon find ourselves creating a world where only those who have surgical procedures to look like carbon copies of eachother are the norm. God made each of us distinctly beautiful and like no other.

There are those who have Heterochromia, Vitiligo, Albinism or huge skin burns. What a person looks like should never have a bearing on our perception or acceptance of them. It is what's on the inside that makes us who we are.

When I was a teen, I saw an episode of The Twililght Zone called, “In the eye of the beholder”. In it everyone underwent plastic surgery to look like everyone else. What we call beautiful was seen as horrific and even terrifying. This is a great satirical view on how we are today.

Let's pray to be more accepting of others in our day to day lives. We never know what friend we may find in the person sitting right next to us!

God bless,
Pamyla

Greet one another with an holy kiss--II Corinthians 13:12

Traditionally to greet someone with a holy kiss, means to kiss them on the cheeks. We live in a different world now and this may not be customary to you, depending on where you live.

There is however, another 'holy kiss' which is just as endearing. WE can greet oneanother with a warm, inviting smile.

There is a saying that goes "When we smile, the world smiles with us". I have found this to be true.

A smile can lift the spirits of someone going through a really rough time, and inturn we feel better knowing we gave such an awesome gift.

Let's all make a conscious decision to smile and thank God that we are can no matter what is going on around us. I'm sure that Jesus' smile alone, warmed many a worn down spirits.

Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance--Acts 2:28

We are bombarded daily with negative messages and images that burn themselves into the depths of our minds, piercing our hearts, coming out of our mouths, and ending up bearing fruit in how we handle life.

We can live with the "Oh no, what now" attitude. Or, we can live looking forward to the good things that are in store for us.

No one can every fully appreciate the blessings of life until we learn how to be thankful also, for the trials and tribulations that come our way. They are what mature and make us.

Get into a bible believing church that also teaches how to apply the scriptures to everyday life--and let's start enjoying ours more, right now, today!

God bless,

Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart--Psalms 37:4

If we put God first in our lives, We will soon begin to see our lives being more blessed than we could have ever imagined or dreamed.

He has a heart that cares about all that concerns us, down to the tiniest fiber of who we are. If we change our heart, the actions and the fruit that our lives bear, will change also.

One of the books I'm reading is called the Godsend--How to create heaven in your life. In it, the author states; As man's faith increases, his problems decrease and his blessings increase.

Let's delight in the Lord and watch Him take what man sees as impossibilites, and bring them to life.

God bless,

Pamyla

Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man -- Colossians 4:6

We should always think before we speak to others, especially in situations where tension and confusion fills the air.

The way we speak to the mechanic working on our car, or the slow customer in front of us in line, could brighten our dampen a day in a split second.

More and more people are struggling with one or more issues in their lives. The way we answer, or speak to another, could encourage them to keep going, or convince them to give up.

We never know what is going on in someone's life. Let's all work on seasoning our speech. The bible teaches that we should treat others the way we want to be treated!

Pamyla

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?--Matt 7:3

We all need to be careful in judgement of others. Why judge our co worker, for keeping a messy desk/office space, when we jump out of beds at home without making it up,and climb back into it at bedtime?

When we judge others, we are not treating them fairly. Those who have faced deep oppression head on are careful not to judge others.

The bible says that we will be judged by the same measure we use to judge others. God's word is the same yesterday, today and forever.

As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.--Galatians 1:9

The 'Secret' to a blessed life is in the word of God. His word, the bible, is our sword of truth. Become 'enlightened' God's way.

The same blessings and miracles He has bestowed upon others, he will do for you. We do not have to purchase special 'miracle cloths', send in any certain amount of money, or jump through hoops to get a blessing.

Look to God for answers. Pick up the bible, call on Him, and He will answer you.

God bless,

PamYla

The news although not always nice or pleasant is something that we need to keep abreast of.

Yes, horrible things happen all around us, but we should not become fearful nor allow those things to steal our joy and keep us confined, bound and living a life filled with fear.

God is faithful and he promised to never leave nor forsake us. We can live with the power of His spirit, in love and in truth. Trust Him to show you the way to freedom.

God bless,
PamYla
