The word works!

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves – James 1:22

Those who are of the household of faith should be wealthy in knowledge, health and wealth according to the word of God. Instead, poverty, sickness and ignorance plague the body of Christ. If we believed the word, we would have no problem doing what it says to do. But, when we walk in doubt and unbelief, we cannot fully experience the abundant life that Jesus talked about in John 10:10.

If we walk in disobedience, we are standing in agreement with satan for what he says about us. Someone may say “Well I don’t know how to ‘do’ the word of God”. I say, look at James 1:5, we are told that if ANY of us lacks wisdom, to come to God, who gives to ALL men liberally (generously) and upbraideth (discourages) not and it SHALL be given him. Pray and ask God in the name of Jesus to bring you into wisdom and understanding of His word.

From personal experience, I can tell you that the word works! I had to first learn to trust God though. It is a process, and it takes time, but it is so worth it. The more I trusted Him, the more I began to walk by faith. We are like an onion whose layers are being peeled away to reveal more of what’s inside. As we begin to exhibit humbleness of heart, and go the extra mile to please the Lord, we will become less attractive to those who are hearers only of the word. Do not fret, there are more who are with us, than those who are against us. Be of good courage and move forward in Christ. He promised to never leave nor forsake us, He always keeps His word.

We are admonished to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. It is a healthy reverence and respect for the Lord that Philippians 2:12 is speaking about. To live in carnality is to live a defeated life. No one wants to keep walking into walls, banging their heads, while expecting different results. We must put our faith into action in order to see positive fruit in our lives. It is what we believe in our hearts and what we say out of our mouths that come to pass. What are you speaking over your life? Change begins when we get into a Jesus believing, bible teaching church that walks by faith. In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us.

God bless,
Pamyla

You are God's somebody

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee--Hebrews 13:5

There has been a deep famine the land over the past couple of years. Because of the shaking that has taken place, many feel they are faceless, lost, and that their lives are spinning out of control.

If our foundation is weak, nothing built on it will withstand the fires, floods nor storms that come our way. If we become led by our emotions, we can become overwhelmed and feel as if the dirt is being thrown over us. WE have to cast ALL of our cares on Jesus, the one who can, and will perfect all things concerning us.

No one or no thing can make us feel worthless without our permission. In II Corinthians 10:5, we are told to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bring it into the captivity of Jesus Christ. We need to know what God says, so we can know the right move to make.

As we read His word, we see how God restores those who trust Him. It may normally take X amount of time to get a certain thing accomplished, but God can accelerate/quicken blessings into the lives of His children. When we are in His will, and pray believing that we receive what we ask, without doubting -- we open the door for Him to do miracles in our lives. All is well, you do matter, your life is not over. You are somebody in Christ. Trust HIm.

God bless,
Pamyla

The Word Illustrated #31 -- Love is Not Blind

Love is not blind

Now the end of the commandment is charity (love) out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
I Timothy 1:5

Webster's Dictionary describes unfeigned as not pretended; sincerely felt or expressed.

To too many of us, a homeless person on the street is nothing more than a faceless nuisance.

If we are walking in faith, the love we have in our hearts will come through in our actions.

In faith, allow God to use you, to bless someone else. If you walk in love with a pure heart and unfeigned faith; blessings and miracles will surely overtake you.

God bless,
Pamyla

"Who Moves You?"

For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect -- Mark 13:22

We have to know God and His word for ourselves, we cannot get into heaven on mama's coat tail. Each of us has to confess that Jesus is Lord and receive salvation.

"I have read the bible before" or "I know what the bible says" is what the enemy loves to hear, because you are in no way a threat to the kingdom of darkness. Your being a Christian does not bother him, it is the kind of Christian you are that matters.

If we are carnal or remain as babes who cannot chew meat, he has been given the green light to wreak havoc in our lives, causing us to point the finger of blame at God, for unanswered prayers and a mediocre life at best.

Let's commit in this new year to put God first and to be hearers and doers of His word.

God bless,
Pamyla

The Word Illustrated #28 -- Don't Look Back

"Don't Look Back"

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God -- Luke 9:62

The past is the past and we all have one. The things we have experienced and gone through are things that God can and will turn around and use for good. From your life experiences, you can help others.

Walking forward and moving on can seem impossible, but with God, all things are possible. His word is full of promises for those who trust and believe in Him.

The devil doesn't care that you are a Christian, he only cares that he keeps you a powerless -- living in lack, poverty, fear, unforgiveness and pain.

Either you believe the word of God or you don't. The decision is yours! If you want to stop walking in circles year after year, then yoke up with Jesus. He won't let you down.

God bless,

Pamyla

The Word Illustrated #27--Proverbs 17:22

Proverbs 17:22--A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones

What does our countenance say about us. Believe it or not, what we meditate on (think about) are the things that show up on our faces.

Are we walking in faith or fear? let's say that Donna was obedient in paying her tithes, and is worried about her car note which is due in 2 weeks. Since she talks faith, but walks in fear, her countenance is reflecting what is really going on inside of her. She does not trust God and His word as she leads others to think.

On the other hand, if Donna were talking faith and walking in it, she does what is asked without doubt or fear. She knows that although the money may not be in her bank account today, God is faithful and will bless her more abundantly because of her faithfulness.

How does she know this, because she reads His word. In Malachi 3:10 the Lord says to PROVE him. Be obedient, be cheerful in the giving of your tithes and offerings and KNOW that God will do what he says he will do. You will be amazed at the favor he gives you, and at how He positions people who want to bless you.

WE have be stand sure footed, unwavering and immovable while standing on the word of God inspite of what we hear, see or feel. His word can change our lives.

Whatever area you face challenges or struggle in, find scriptures that deal with that subject and meditate (recite) them aloud until they become a part of you. When the enemy begins to torment you about that thing, you give him back the word of God. This is standing!

As we get more of God's word in us, our countenance begins to change. Soon we will hear others comment and ask if we have lost weight, been on vacation or exclaim how much younger we are looking!

In John 10:10b Jesus said that he came to give life and to give it more abundantly. God's word is full of life and able to deliver us from anything that comes our way.
